Ethereum (ETH-USD) opened at $2,684.09 on Thursday, September 24, 2026, down 2.5% from Wednesday's opening price. The price of ethereum moved down further this morning to $2,646.52 as of 7:33 a.m. ET.
Just yesterday, we noted crypto prices opened at 8-month highs, with at least one analyst saying the crypto winter was over. This morning, bitcoin and ethereum prices opened sharply lower and seem to be sliding further as markets wake up in the U.S.
Widespread inflation concerns have increased the odds that the Fed will raise rates not just once more this year, but possibly twice, weighing down the recent crypto price surge.
