Bitcoin ETFs just had their biggest single day since January while XRP and Ether funds slowed sharply, and analysts are calling it a rotation. But the price action tells a completely different story.

Bitcoin spot ETFs, the funds that hold the coin directly and trade like a stock, took in $731 million on September 3, their biggest day since January 14, according to SoSoValue. In the week to September 5, XRP spot ETFs took in $19 million, down 83% from $110.5 million the week before.

Together, those figures suggest money is leaving XRP for Bitcoin. But the Bitcoin price trades at $79,812 as of September 6, the XRP price at $1.41, and XRP is up 39% over the past month against Bitcoin’s 23%. So would a slower week for XRP’s funds and one big day for Bitcoin’s add up to a rotation?

What the Bitcoin ETF Flow Data Shows

The $731 million day on September 3 was part of three straight weeks of net inflows to Bitcoin spot ETFs, $3.8 billion in total, which is the strongest three-week run of 2026. But BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (NASDAQ:IBIT) took $454 million of that total, with ARK’s ARKB adding $138 million and Fidelity’s FBTC $74 million, so one fund accounted for more than 60% of the day.
