Robbie told reporters that Bitcoin’s recent bounce fits a pattern he has watched for years. He said the asset often recovers when confidence across markets is weak, while its longer-term behavior can differ from stocks and other traditional investments.
Bitcoin is trading under $80,000 after posting its strongest three-day gain since 2023 last week. That move came while stocks struggled and bond markets turned uneven. Robbie said, “Debt and deficit levels are a major concern for markets,” and added that renewed focus on those risks can help “assets like bitcoin and gold.” Stanley Druckenmiller and Ray Dalio have also warned about America’s fiscal path.
Stanley and Ray have pointed to the risk that heavy borrowing and persistent shortfalls could become a lasting problem across markets worldwide over many years. Robbie said investors are increasingly watching the future buying power of fiat money and looking at other places to hold value.
