Monivo, a non-custodial crypto swap aggregator, recently analyzed live provider quotes to see how much swap rates can differ when users request the same trade. 

Through its Crypto Swap Rate Index, the platform compared quotes for the same trading pair, send amount, rate type, and observation moment, providing a clearer picture of the price differences users may encounter when swapping crypto.

A useful crypto quote comparison only works when the trade conditions match.

Take a BTC-to-ETH swap as an example. If one provider quotes a floating rate and another quotes a fixed rate, the two offers operate differently. Pull one quote now and another a few minutes later, and normal market movement can also get mixed into the comparison.

The send amount matters as well. Pricing a small swap and pricing a much larger one can produce different results, so comparing two providers only makes sense when the trade conditions match.

For its research, Monivo groups quotes requested at the same moment for the same pair, send amount, and rate type. At least two connected providers need to return a usable quote before that group is included in the spread calculation.
