Bitcoin mining operations at the facility ended on Sept. 1.
The restart is required for court-ordered sound testing connected to a lawsuit brought on by neighbors, according to a letter from Hyperscale Data to Dowagiac Mayor Patrick Bakeman and city council members.
The company said the testing should last no more than 24 hours, but that more testing might be required.
The City of Dowagiac is not part of the lawsuit and did not order the testing.
Hyperscale Data said it would provide updates as it learns about the timing and duration of any additional testing.
