Kevin O'Leary Is Certain Ethereum Won't Be the 'Standard' Across Industry Sectors — The 'Shark' Says These Coins Could Gain Interest

Influential investor and media personality Kevin O'Leary expressed doubts on Sunday about Ethereum's dominance in the cryptocurrency space, hinting at potential investments in chains like Solana and Avalanche.

O'Leary Questions Ethereum's Dominance

O'Leary, also known as "Mr. Wonderful," said with "certainty" that Ethereum may not become the standard across the different sectors of the stock market, citing its speed as a concern.

In his view, Solana and Avalanche were instead emerging as networks of potential interest to the industry.

"They're looking for much faster transactional speeds with variance of volumes," O'Leary stated.

As of this writing, Solana is processing over 1,262 transactions per second, compared with Ethereum's 22.44 transactions per second, according to data from Chainspect. However, Avalanche was slower, facilitating only 10.40 transactions per second.
