Bitcoin ($BTC) rose 1.3% on September 14, outperforming the broader cryptocurrency market following a short squeeze in derivatives markets. Looking ahead, though, our machine learning algorithm predicts the asset is going to plummet by the end of the month.

Namely, based on the forecast given by Finbold’s AI Agent, Bitcoin could decline 4.93% from its current price of $77,967 and trade at $74,108 on October 1, 2026.

The prediction was generated using a combination of four artificial intelligence (AI) models, including DeepSeek Chat, ChatGPT 5.7 Luna, Gemini 3.5 Flash, and Grok 4.5.

Notably, all four individual models offered bearish $BTC price targets. Even the most optimistic ChatGPT predicted a 0.96% decline, seeing Bitcoin at $77,200 on October 1.

Gemini 3.5 Flash had the most negative prediction, projecting that ‘digital gold’ could drop no less than 8.29% to $71,500. DeepSeek Chat forecasted the asset would withdraw 7.08% to $72,450, while Grok saw it dropping 3.45% to $75,280.

As such, the AI analysis seems in line with some human forecasts, which show that Bitcoin could lose momentum and return to the lower end of the $60,000–$65,000 zone.

Bitcoin price short-term outlook

Despite $463 million in net outflows from U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETF) last week, the total cryptocurrency market capitalization increased 1.25%. Now, the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision on September 16 and a Senate cloture vote on the CLARITY Act on September 15 seem the most important potential short-term catalyst.

The key level to watch is $78,000, as a breakout above that could strengthen momentum across the broader market, especially altcoins. Also notable is Bitcoin’s 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level at $77,633. Maintaining that support could open the way for a retest of the $79,800 area, while a breakdown could expose the cryptocurrency to a decline toward $75,000 and then lead to further losses.
