A series of unusual posts on McDonald’s India’s verified X account left people on the internet discussing whether it was true or that the account was compromised and was being used to promote a potential crypto scam. It all began with a post shared on Sunday, September 6, where an intern had alleged that they did not receive months of salary, before shifting to promote a memecoin and sharing cryptocurrency wallet address.
In the now-deleted post, the intern, who claimed to be working with the fast food chain’s Indian office, said that they had not been paid by their boss, named Amit Joshi since December last year. “I am an intern at McDonald’s India. My boss, Amit Joshi, has not paid me for months, forcing me to take on two extra jobs. I manage several McDonald’s Asian accounts, but Amit Joshi has not paid me since December 2025," the post read.
