How it worked: Rather than take cash at settlement, the company received the underlying MSTR shares, which have been transferred into its name and booked as investment assets on its balance sheet.
Why Strategy? The company called Strategy an important target in the digital asset market because of its Bitcoin exposure. Strategy is the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, making MSTR one of the most closely watched listed proxies for the cryptocurrency.
The structure gives MicroCloud indirect exposure to Bitcoin price moves while keeping the position inside a traditional equity holding.
The bigger plan: The stake extends a capital allocation strategy that reaches well beyond MicroCloud's core holographic technology business. The company said it holds more than three billion yuan in cash and plans to deploy over $400 million across blockchain development, quantum computing, quantum holography, artificial intelligence, and other frontier technologies.
