Robinhood Targets U.S. Crypto Traders With 10x Perpetual Futures

Robinhood plans to offer crypto perpetual futures trading to eligible US clients with 10x leverage opportunities, among other services, as it‌ seeks to grow its derivatives business. Robinhood Derivatives aims to offer eight digital assets‌ on crypto perpetual futures over the next few months.

Bitcoin and Ethereum perpetuals will have a maximum leverage ratio of 10x,‌ and Solana, Ripple, Dogecoin, Cardano, Chainlink, and Hype perpetual contracts will have a maximum leverage ratio of 3x. Unlike other futures contracts,‌ perpetuals will not expire, and traders can hold open positions indefinitely as long as they meet margin requirements.

Robinhood will charge 0.01% per‌ trade until the end of 2026. Clients‌ can buy and sell positions directly within the app, view stop-loss and take-profit values, and see real-time margin call prices. Additional app features include‌ notifications about impending margin calls. CEO Vlad Tenev said that gains and losses for these new contracts will be updated‌ every 15 minutes.

The‌ product is provided by Robinhood Derivatives, a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant and NFA member, with Bitstamp providing contract services. In June 2025, Robinhood acquired Bitstamp in a‌ $200 million deal. The‌ acquisition gives Robinhood access to institutional and global cryptocurrency trading services.
