Robinhood Unveils AI Trading Agents, Crypto Perpetuals and Weekend Stock Trading

Robinhood is making its boldest push yet to become the primary destination for active traders, rolling out artificial intelligence agents that can execute trades on behalf of users, introducing crypto perpetual futures with leverage, and extending U.S. stock trading to weekends.

The announcements came Tuesday at the company's HOOD Summit in Houston, Texas, where executives framed the product blitz as a direct response to a generation of investors conditioned by crypto exchanges to expect markets that never close and tools that automate decision-making.

At the center of the launch is Robinhood Agents, a service that lets customers connect AI models from OpenAI or Anthropic to a dedicated trading account. Users can instruct the agent in plain English to research markets, build watchlists, and place orders across stocks, options, and digital assets. A feature called Loops allows customers to set standing instructions so an agent monitors markets continuously and executes a strategy when specified conditions are met, without requiring a new prompt each time.

Robinhood said more than 150,000 agentic accounts have already been created since it opened its trading infrastructure to outside AI developers earlier this year, generating millions of daily calls to its tools. The embedded version announced Tuesday removes much of the technical setup that previously required coding knowledge, making the capability available to all of the brokerage's roughly 29 million customers.
