The Next Crypto Wave Could Be Bigger Than Expected: 5 Coins to Watch as Institutions Embrace DeFi and Digital Assets

  • Financial institutions are increasingly interested in blockchain, DeFi, and digital assets.
  • UNI is a token for the DeFi infrastructure, while SPX, PEPE, GIGA, and TURBO are mainly meme tokens.
  • These altcoins may be affected by their liquidity, trading volume, regulatory status, activity of the community, and investor sentiment.

One can’t help but notice that institutions have been playing a more significant role in the cryptocurrency market. Financial firms are looking at blockchain infrastructure, tokenized assets, decentralized finance, and more in terms of digital asset applications. The trend may slowly impact where capital will be allocated in the next step of the market. But not all cryptocurrencies are created equal when it comes to interest from institutions. It matters for Uniswap (UNI), SPX6900 (SPX), Pepe (PEPE), Gigachad (GIGA), and Turbo (TURBO). UNI is linked directly to DeFi via the trading protocol Uniswap. The four others revolve around the meme-coin segment primarily.

They can thus react in varying ways to the liquidity of the market, investor perceptions, trading volume, and social media buzz. As institutions participate more, investors may be more interested in looking at projects that have proven applications. Meanwhile, at the same time, when risk appetite rises, meme coins can sustain market activity without any issues. The five assets are actually not in any way a selection of investments, but portions of the larger altcoin marketplace.
