The total value of tokenized equities held on blockchain networks crossed $1 billion for the first time,
to data from RWA(dot)xyz. The milestone reflects growing demand from investors seeking blockchain-based access to traditional stock markets.
Ondo Finance
for roughly 58% of that total. Products issued under the xStocks platform hold approximately 24%. Together, the two providers control the majority of the market,
to RWA(dot)xyz data and a report published Tuesday by Foresight Ventures.
The Foresight Ventures report argues the sector is consolidating around its early leaders. It cites regulatory barriers, liquidity advantages, and differing tokenization models as the main factors. Alice Li, an investment partner at Foresight Ventures, said that a competitive platform in this space must simultaneously manage liquidity infrastructure, multi-jurisdiction legal rights, and DeFi composability. She said those three requirements pull in different directions, making the build difficult. Li said Ondo and xStocks gained their current positions because they "made a clear architectural bet early and built deep around it."
RWA(dot)io co-founder and COO Marko Vidrih said the pace of growth matters as much as the headline figure. He told Cointelegraph that tokenized stock values rose roughly 2,900% over 12 months. He attributed that increase to major platform launches, improving regulatory conditions, and infrastructure improvements that made these products accessible to retail investors.
