President Donald Trump is planning to attend a White House meeting next week with chief executives from some of the biggest names in crypto, prediction markets and artificial intelligence, people briefed on the planning told CoinDesk.
The Wednesday gathering is a prelude to the first formal session of a new Innovation Advisory Committee at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which will hold its inaugural meeting the following day. For anyone who has watched the crypto industry’s long, messy fight for regulatory clarity, this is a notable moment: the president sitting down with the same executives whose companies have spent years pushing Washington for clearer rules.
Who’s in the room
The committee’s membership reads like a roster of the industry’s heaviest hitters. CEOs from Coinbase, Ripple, Gemini, Robinhood, Polymarket and Kalshi are all members. They will be joined by leaders from more traditional financial firms, including CME Group, Nasdaq, Intercontinental Exchange and the DTCC.
