President Donald Trump is set to meet with crypto executives at the White House on Wednesday, a day after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed rules that could make it easier for companies to issue and sell certain digital assets.

Trump is scheduled to speak with technology leaders at the White House in the afternoon, according to his official schedule. Crypto executives and representatives from industry trade groups are expected to attend, along with Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chair Mike Selig, Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins and crypto adviser Patrick Witt, according to Reuters.

The meeting comes a day after the SEC proposed rules that would exempt certain token offerings from existing securities regulations. The proposal could give crypto companies a clearer route to raising money and issuing digital tokens, while marking another step in the Trump administration's effort to establish a more favorable regulatory framework for the industry.

A number of crypto industry figures have backed the SEC's proposed framework. In a comment shared with Cryptoprowl, Raphael Zagury, CEO of Twenty One Capital, said the SEC's move could remove regulatory uncertainty, which is one of the biggest constraints facing the crypto industry.
