Webull, Coinbase in Canada

The deal gives Webull Canada clients access to digital asset trading while Coinbase provides core crypto infrastructure, including custody and trading services, as the partnership extends beyond the United States, Brazil, and Australia.

Bitcoin News

Webull Canada CEO Michael Constantino said, “Canadian investors expect access to a growing range of asset classes, and crypto has become an increasingly important part of that mix.”

Coinbase’s involvement is framed as providing “the infrastructure needed to deliver this offering with the scale and reliability our clients expect,” according to the announcement cited in the sources.

The expansion follows Webull’s decision to reintroduce crypto trading after stepping back from digital assets in 2023, when it ceased offering access through its app in July 2023 and began rebuilding in 2025.

Regulation, custody, and limits

The Canadian rollout is tied to Webull Canada Crypto Limited, which is described as regulated by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organisation (CIRO) and admitted as a CIRO member in June, while Webull’s disclosures say crypto assets do not qualify for CIPF coverage.

Finance Magnates reports that Webull Securities (Canada) Limited and Webull Canada Crypto Limited are separate entities under common ownership, with CIRO and the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF) regulating both, but “Webull states that CIPF does not cover crypto assets.”
