The White House is set to host crypto and prediction market executives next week even as the CLARITY Act stalls in the Senate. The meeting will also take place just a day before the CFTC’s inaugural IAC meeting, where participants will discuss the way forward for crypto regulation.

White House To Host Crypto, Prediction Market Executives Next Week

According to a Politico report, the White House is expected to host these executives on August 19, citing people familiar with the matter. The details of the gathering and those who will be in attendance remain largely unknown.

There is also the possibility that traditional finance executives may attend the meeting, while President Donald Trump’s attendance remains unclear. The event comes at a critical time, as the crypto industry is pushing for the Senate to pass the CLARITY Act, which would provide a comprehensive regulatory framework.

It is worth noting that the crypto and TradFi industries have also been at loggerheads over the crypto bill, as banking groups lobby against stablecoin yields in it. Issues such as stablecoin yields and an ethics provision continue to act as obstacles to passing the crypto bill.

The White House meeting will notably take place just a day before the inaugural meeting of the CFTC’s Innovation Advisory Committee. The CFTC today released the agenda for the meeting, with the panel set to discuss potential topics related to crypto regulation.
