1. Vitalik: Ethereum to Become Crypto’s World Computer link

Vitalik Buterin published an article titled The cryptographic world computer, stating that Ethereum is evolving from a conventional blockchain into a “cryptographic world computer”. He projected that by 2030, Ethereum will adopt technologies including few-slot finality, PeerDAS and SNARK verification, multi-party block building, FOCIL, private mempools, plus lighter distributed history and state storage. This will shift validation from “download and re-execute” to “data sampling + SNARK verification”, greatly boosting scalability, privacy and censorship resistance.

Vitalik noted that the planned Hegotá upgrade next year may be Ethereum’s last “regular upgrade” whose technical form remains recognizable to developers from 2015. Subsequent upgrades will involve recursive STARKs, automated formal verification, highly optimized consensus algorithms and post-quantum technologies. With PeerDAS deployment underway, Ethereum has begun transitioning from a plain blockchain toward a cryptographic world computer combining blockchains, cryptographic privacy and verification, and robust decentralized off-chain components.
