XRP surged more than 60% in a week, breaking through the $1.60 level. On the 21st (local time), XRP crossed $1.60 (approximately 2,200 won) in intraday trading on Binance's USDT market, gaining 26% in a single day. Its seven-day gain reached approximately 67%.

As recently as the 18th, XRP was trading around $1.00 (approximately 1,400 won). It then jumped 14.7% on the 20th, extending its gains to climb roughly 60% in just four days. Over the same period, XRP significantly outperformed both Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Multiple factors converged to drive this rally. First, the U.S. Treasury Department doubled the size of its long-term Treasury buyback program, pushing Treasury yields lower and raising expectations for expanded liquidity. This triggered a sharp rally in Bitcoin, with buying pressure subsequently spreading to major altcoins including XRP and Solana.

President Donald Trump's emphasis on pro-crypto policies and the CLARITY Act during a White House meeting with the digital asset industry also stimulated investor sentiment. The CLARITY Act is legislation expected to establish a regulatory framework for the U.S. digital asset market.

Accumulation by large investors and the liquidation of short positions in the futures market are also seen as amplifying the rally. As XRP's price broke through key resistance levels in succession, short sellers were forced to buy back XRP to limit losses, triggering a short squeeze. Billions of dollars in short positions across both Bitcoin and XRP were liquidated, accelerating the rally.
