U.S. spot cryptocurrency ETFs faced another difficult session on September 16, as both Bitcoin and Ether investment products recorded substantial withdrawals.

Bitcoin spot ETFs posted $296 million in net outflows, while Ether spot ETFs recorded another $224 million in withdrawals. Together, the two categories saw approximately $520 million leave during the trading day.

The figures point to weaker demand across the two largest U.S. spot crypto ETF markets during the session.

BlackRock ETHA Leads Ether Redemptions

Within the Ether ETF category, BlackRock’s ETHA recorded the largest redemption of the day, with $110 million in net outflows.

Bitcoin ETFs also faced broad selling pressure, although Morgan Stanley’s MSBT moved against the overall trend. The fund attracted $3.47 million in net inflows, making it a notable exception during a day dominated by withdrawals.

The mixed performance shows that individual funds can continue attracting capital even when the wider ETF category experiences net redemptions.
