Bitcoin Futures Open Interest Rises as Traders Take Positions
Bitcoin futures open interest recorded an 18.66% increase over the past 24 hours, according to the data shared from Coinalyze. The move brought total open interest across the tracked Bitcoin contracts to about $24.7 billion.
The data showed a clear difference between futures and perpetual contracts. Futures open interest stood at about $1.3 billion and posted a 18.66% daily increase. Perpetual contracts, which accounted for about $23.4 billion, recorded a 1.44% decline over the same period. Overall open interest was down 0.57%.
This suggests that the rise in futures activity did not come from the entire derivatives market. Instead, the greatest change came from futures contracts as traders added positions while the wider market remained active.
