Key Moments

  • Bitcoin trades around $64,116, stabilizing above short-term support near $64,000 but still capped under major moving averages.
  • Ethereum changes hands near $1,877, supported by its 50-day EMA at $1,863 while facing resistance at the 100-day and 200-day EMAs.
  • XRP hovers just above the $1.00 psychological level after three days of declines, with momentum indicators signaling ongoing downside pressure.

Macro Backdrop and Sentiment

Bitcoin (BTC) adopts a sideways bias on Tuesday as it retests nearby support at $64,000. Market participants appear hesitant to commit, looking for a clear trigger to drive a potential move through $65,000. Ethereum (ETH) shows a similar pattern, trading below $1,900 but staying anchored above the $1,800 demand zone.

Ripple’s XRP remains under pressure as it gravitates toward the critical $1.00 threshold. This marks the third straight session of losses, eroding its broader technical posture.

US-Iran Tensions Pressure Risk Appetite

Iran stated on Monday that a possible agreement with Oman on overseeing commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz would not be enough to fully reopen the key chokepoint unless the United States meets several conditions.

Responding to Tehran’s call for compensation from Washington, US President Donald Trump said the US would seek reparations from Iran for American casualties.

Trump argued in a pre-recorded interview with Real America’s Voice that Iran’s current financial backdrop is unsustainable.

“So economically, they are a mess. They can’t borrow money. We control their money, what they had, which is a lot. They had a lot, and we have total control of it. I’m their banker,” Trump said.

Risk appetite remains subdued, reflected in the crypto Fear & Greed Index, which sits in the Fear area at 29 on Tuesday, slightly below 30 from the previous session. Should appetite for risk continue to erode, constrained demand for digital assets is likely to curb rebound attempts and raise the risk of a wider market pullback.

Bitcoin Technical Picture: Sideways Trade Above Support

Bitcoin is quoted around $64,116, trading with a restrained tone while remaining below key Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs). The spot price is under the 50-day EMA at $64,633, with the 100-day EMA at $66,837 and the 200-day EMA at $72,804 aligned above. This configuration signals that the broader trend is still under strain, even as prices stabilize near current levels.

The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) gauge is slightly positive around the zero line, and the Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 49 is near the middle of its range. Together, these indicators point to a lack of strong directional conviction rather than a clear reversal signal.

On the topside, the first hurdle is the 50-day EMA near $64,633, followed by the 100-day EMA around $66,837, and then the more distant 200-day EMA at approximately $72,804. These levels create a multi-layered zone of supply that bulls would need to overcome to alter the prevailing bias.

On the downside, initial support appears around $63,430, near the area of a previously broken upward-sloping trendline. A sustained move below this region would likely open the door to deeper corrective losses. Holding above it, however, keeps BTC confined to a consolidation phase beneath the dominant EMAs.

Ethereum: Supported by 50-day EMA, Capped by Overhead Supply

Ethereum trades near $1,877, holding just above its 50-day EMA at $1,863 while remaining constrained beneath the 100-day EMA at $1,924 and the 200-day EMA around $2,123. This setup points to a neutral to mildly bearish short-term stance, with price trapped between near-term trend support and substantial resistance above.

Momentum signals are mixed. The RSI hovers around 50, and the MACD remains below the zero line with a negative histogram. This suggests that upside efforts may struggle to gain traction while ETH trades under the higher EMAs.

The first resistance level is the 100-day EMA near $1,924. A sustained push through this zone would clear a path toward the more consequential barrier at the 200-day EMA around $2,123. On the downside, immediate backing is provided by the 50-day EMA at $1,863. A daily close below this reference would signal scope for a deeper retracement, leaving ETH vulnerable to additional weakness as buyers surrender the short-term trend floor.

XRP: Bearish Tone Persists Around $1.00

XRP trades slightly above $1.00, extending its bearish short-term tone as it remains firmly below the 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day EMAs. These overhead averages reinforce a capped structure and underline ongoing selling pressure.

On the daily chart, the MACD stays under the zero line, consistent with persistent downside bias, while the RSI at 34 sits just above oversold territory. This combination indicates that bears retain control even as the market approaches stretched conditions.

Nearby resistance is seen at the 50-day EMA around $1.10, followed by the 100-day EMA at $1.18 and the 200-day EMA near $1.37. Together, they create a layered zone that XRP would need to reclaim to temper the current negative sentiment. Additional declines would likely be guided by earlier lows and psychological markers at $1.00 and $0.95. Only a firm move back above the cluster of EMAs would begin to signal a shift toward stabilization.
