Trump Pushes for CLARITY Act Passage with Crypto Leaders Participating

On August 20, according to Cointelegraph, U.S. President Donald Trump held a press conference at the White House with crypto enterprise executives such as Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Gemini co-founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, calling on Congress to pass the "Digital Asset Market Clarity Act" (CLARITY Act). The bill was passed in the House of Representatives in July 2025, but has been stalled in the Senate for several months due to controversies such as tokenized stocks, stablecoin rewards, and potential conflicts of interest involving the Trump family.

Armstrong stated that the bill would make U.S. crypto policy sustainable in the long term and speculated that the bill might receive over 60 votes of support when the Senate votes on the motion to end debate on September 18. Trump said the bill has high bipartisan support and called on legislators to advance the bill in memory of the late Senator Lindsey Graham. During the same period, the CFTC and SEC are also advancing agendas related to crypto regulation.
