$100B Fund assets under management

Goldman Sachs' short-term Treasury fund "FTIXX" will now be offered to institutional investors through Lynq, a settlement network for crypto firms. The fund, with approximately $100 billion in assets under management (approximately ¥15.7 trillion), has effectively gained a new distribution channel connecting traditional finance with the digital asset market.

Trade execution will be handled by tZERO Securities, an SEC-registered broker-dealer. The announcement was made by parent company tZERO, a regulated capital markets infrastructure firm, via its X (formerly Twitter) account.

FTIXX represents the first external fund to be onboarded by Lynq. Previously, the platform offered only a single investment product. Goldman Sachs does not need to develop new blockchain-based products; instead, Lynq serves as a bridge, providing access to the fund for more than 30 institutional crypto firms.

A Strategy Distinct from Tokenization

This move stands in clear contrast to the blockchain-based fund development that Wall Street has been pursuing. Asset management giant BlackRock launched its tokenized fund "BUIDL," while Franklin Templeton offers tokenized shares under the "BENJI" brand. These products directly issue and manage share ownership records as digital tokens on a blockchain, making the blockchain the official record-keeping infrastructure for fund operations.
