Market-Wide Risk-Off Move
The clearest observable driver is that crypto as a whole has been selling off. Over roughly the last 24 hours, total crypto market cap fell from about $2.91 trillion to $2.84 trillion, a drop of about 2.41%. Over the same window, altcoins excluding BTC fell from about $1.20 trillion to $1.18 trillion, around 1.67% lower. Bitcoin dominance ticked slightly higher, which is typical when traders derisk from higher beta altcoins into BTC or stablecoins. Mantle dropped from about $0.684 at the start of the 24-hour window to about $0.653 by the end, which is roughly a 4.61% move lower based on sampled points, close to the reported 24-hour change of about −4.3 to −4.4%. In other words, Mantle is falling somewhat more than the average alt, but in the same direction and at a magnitude that is consistent with it behaving as a higher beta asset in a down tape. The single clearest "cause" you can point to is a broad risk-off move across crypto, with altcoins generally down and MNT moving more aggressively in the same direction.
