Spot Bitcoin ETFs Log $606M Inflows, Extending Winning Streak to Four Sessions

U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded approximately $606.3 million in net inflows on Aug. 20, marking the fourth consecutive trading session of positive flows, according to data from Farside Investors. This figure surpassed the previous day’s inflows, which had already represented the largest daily total in three months.

Fund-by-fund breakdown

Leading the charge was BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), which attracted $503.0 million in net inflows. Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) followed with $64.7 million, while Bitwise’s Bitcoin Fund (BITB) added $26.4 million. Ark Invest’s ARKB saw $12.2 million, and Invesco’s BTCO contributed $3.6 million. On the flip side, VanEck’s HODL experienced net outflows of $3.6 million, the only fund to report a decline on the day.

Context and market implications

The sustained inflow streak signals growing institutional appetite for regulated Bitcoin exposure. Since their launch in January, spot Bitcoin ETFs have accumulated tens of billions of dollars in assets under management, reshaping how traditional investors access the cryptocurrency market. The recent surge coincides with a period of relative price stability for Bitcoin, which has been trading in a range above $60,000 for several weeks.
