Strategy Inc. is back at the Bitcoin buffet. After a three-week hiatus, Michael Saylor's firm scooped up 950 BTC worth approximately $75.7 million between September 14 and September 20, marking the company's first purchase since its last buy on August 31.
The average acquisition price came in at $79,670 per coin, including fees. That's a meaningful premium to the company's overall average cost basis of roughly $75,416 per BTC, but still well below Bitcoin's market price of around $85K at the time of reporting.
With this latest purchase, Strategy's total stash has climbed to 846,000 BTC. The firm has spent approximately $63.8 billion accumulating that position over the years, making it far and away the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin on the planet.
At Bitcoin's recent trading price near $85K, the entire position carries a market value of roughly $72 billion. That leaves Strategy sitting on unrealized gains of approximately $8 billion.
The company also disclosed holding $1.05 billion in USD cash reserves, with total USD reserves of $5.04 billion.
The Bitcoin purchase wasn't the only capital allocation move Strategy made during the week. The firm simultaneously repurchased $174 million worth of its STRC perpetual preferred shares.
