A trail of crypto transfers, hidden wallets, and Prague evidence has given investigators a closer look at how the alleged scheme operated.

Ukraine’s Cyber Police and investigators from the Main Investigative Department of the National Police have uncovered a man who, according to the investigation, allegedly seized more than $655,000 by claiming he was investing in crypto assets.

This is reported by the National Police.

Law enforcement officers acted under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office. From 2023 to 2025, the suspect persuaded the victim to invest money in cryptocurrency, allegedly to generate passive income.

The funds were converted into cryptocurrency and transferred to crypto wallets whose details were provided by the man. An analysis of the movement of virtual assets showed that he actually controlled those wallets.

The suspect subsequently moved the assets between various services and used methods that made it more difficult to establish their origin and subsequent movement.

Search in Prague and Evidence Seized

As part of international cooperation, Czech law enforcement authorities confirmed that the man lived in Prague. An authorized search was conducted at his residence with the participation of representatives of Ukraine’s National Police.
