Universal Quantum has secured over $100 million in Series A funding, marking the largest such raise for a UK-headquartered quantum computing firm. The investment will fuel global expansion and the development of the company’s modular technology, intended to advance fault-tolerant quantum computing. “Universal Quantum’s progress reflects our partners’ belief that we represent one of the most credible paths to quantum computing at scale,” said Dr. Sebastian Weidt, CEO and co-founder. The new capital will also support research and development centers in Singapore, the United States, Japan and Germany.

Series A Funding Fuels Global Quantum Computing Expansion

The latest funding round for Universal Quantum includes participation from EDBI, the Singapore-based sovereign investor, signaling a strategic commitment to quantum technology within Asia-Pacific. This investment, part of a larger $100 million Series A raise co-led by DCVC and Firgun Ventures, will directly support the establishment of Universal Quantum’s first research and development center outside of Europe, located in Singapore. The expansion into Singapore complements existing operations in Germany and the United States, establishing a geographically diverse research footprint for the company.
