Bitcoin is attempting to reclaim the $85,000 level, supported by interest-rate commentary from a senior Federal Reserve official. The U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) report due tonight has emerged as the key variable that will determine near-term direction.

As of 4 p.m. on the 14th, Bitcoin was trading at $83,406, according to CoinGecko, a global cryptocurrency market data platform. During Asian trading hours, it climbed as high as $83,900, up 1.5%. In Korean won terms, that is roughly 120 million won (approximately $90,000).

The immediate catalyst for the rebound was commentary from John Williams, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. While he suggested that one additional rate hike this year could be appropriate, he also stated there would be no need to raise rates further in 2027. As concerns about prolonged tightening into next year eased, risk appetite revived.

The dollar weakened, and the S&P 500 pared some of its losses. Major cryptocurrencies rallied in tandem. According to CoinDesk, Zcash (ZEC) surged roughly 7%, while Solana (SOL) and Dogecoin (DOGE) each gained 2.5%, and Ethereum (ETH) rose 2%. Ripple (XRP) and Binance Coin (BNB) also advanced 1–2%.

The mood was markedly different just a day earlier. On the 13th, Bitcoin slid to $81,774, down 1.4% over 24 hours. Ethereum fell 1.9% to $2,444, and Solana dropped 3.6% to $105. The Dollar Index (DXY) breached the 102.6 level intraday, hitting its highest point in roughly 18 months since April of last year, which weighed heavily on investor sentiment.
