In June 2026, BitGo appointed Angela Ang, a former official at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), as Managing Director of APAC and President of BitGo Singapore.
What BitGo is building in Singapore
BitGo Singapore operates under a Major Payment Institution license from MAS. That license allows the subsidiary to offer regulated Digital Payment Token services. The company’s service stack in the region includes cold storage for over 1,300 digital assets, around-the-clock trading and settlement, and token management services.
A partnership announced in June 2026 with dtcpay pairs BitGo’s custody and trading capabilities with dtcpay’s payments infrastructure, creating an end-to-end pipeline from digital asset storage to merchant settlement.
Globally, BitGo reported 104% year-over-year client growth, reaching 5,322 clients by the end of 2025.
Why APAC, why now
Hong Kong re-opened its doors to retail crypto trading in 2023 and has continued expanding its licensing regime. Japan has progressively eased rules around stablecoin issuance. Australia is developing its own digital asset regulatory framework.
