Fundstrat Sees 30% Swing In Bitcoin’s Price

Wall Street research firm Fundstrat Global Advisors says Bitcoin (BTC) is due for a 30% swing up or down.

Sean Farrell, the firm's head of cryptocurrencies, made the call, saying that Bitcoin's 30-day price swings rank among the smallest on record and that a larger move is overdue.

Across eight episodes of similarly low volatility, Fundstrat found the median price move over the following 60 days was 30.2%.

Four of those eight instances ended in gains, and four ended in losses, wrote Farrell in a note to clients.

That split signals the likely size of the next price move. It does not indicate in which direction (up or down) Bitcoin’s price will move, according to Farrell.

Fundstrat did not name a specific price target for Bitcoin in its latest note to clients.

However, a 30% swing off the current price of roughly $64,000 U.S. would put Bitcoin near $83,200 U.S. on the upside. A swing to the downside would put Bitcoin at $44,800 U.S.

In concluding his note, Farrell flagged rising bond yields and a continued rise of inflation as the biggest risks facing Bitcoin currently.

Bitcoin has lost 27% of its value so far in 2026 and was trading at $64,175 U.S. on Aug. 18.
