Gemini’s Cameron Winklevoss Says Bitcoin Is Trading At 50% Discount

Cameron Winklevoss, co-founder of the Gemini (NASDAQ: $GEMI) crypto exchange, is urging investors to buy the dip in Bitcoin (CRYPTO: $BTC). 

In a social media post, Winklevoss argues that Bitcoin is currently trading at a 50% discount and that this is an "unprecedented time to buy the dip."

Winklevoss, who co-founded Gemini with his twin brother Tyler, said that Bitcoin is currently on sale and that the 50% price decline since October 2025 is a discount rather than a warning sign.

The comments come with BTC having fallen from an all-time high of $120,000 U.S. last autumn to as low as $58,000 U.S. this June. 

Bitcoin is trading at $64,750 U.S. on Aug. 19 but remains rangebound and unable to break through resistance at $65,000 U.S. 

Cameron Winklevoss has a vested interest in talking up Bitcoin given that he and his brother Tyler own an estimated 70,000 BTC that's currently worth $4.60 billion U.S. 

The twins were early investors in Bitcoin, first purchasing the cryptocurrency back in 2012. 

The downturn in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum (CRYPTO: $ETH) has pressured the Gemini exchange, which went public last September. 

Earlier this year, the Winklevoss brothers moved $130 million U.S. in BTC to Gemini wallets, a transfer analysts interpreted as preparation for a potential sale.
