Trump Media (NASDAQ: DJT) Posts $361 Million Crypto Loss As Bitcoin Holdings Shrink foreignpolicyjournal.com

Trump Media and Technology Group (NASDAQ: DJT), the parent company of Truth Social, has reported a staggering $360.6 million loss on its cryptocurrency holdings for the first half of the year.

The company, backed by U.S. President Donald Trump and his family, held 9,477 Bitcoin valued at $557.1 million as of June 30, according to its earnings report.

That figure represents a decline from the 9,542 Bitcoin the company owned at the end of March, meaning DJT shed 65 tokens during the second quarter alone.

A significant portion of Trump Media’s Bitcoin was pledged as collateral, with 4,260 BTC committed against convertible notes.

An additional 2,077 tokens were pledged as part of a Bitcoin options strategy, further limiting the company’s liquid crypto exposure.

Trump Media cited “prevailing market conditions and shifting business and stakeholder priorities” as the reason behind the reported crypto losses.

Beyond its cryptocurrency difficulties, the company posted a net loss of $238 million for its fiscal second quarter on revenue of less than $2 million.

The revenue figure underscores the ongoing challenge Trump Media faces in generating meaningful income from its Truth Social platform and broader business operations.

DJT stock has declined 46% over the last 12 months, with shares trading at $9.39 per share at the time of the report.

Bitcoin itself was trading at $64,260 at the time of reporting, a price level that has contributed to the paper losses reflected in Trump Media’s financial disclosures.

The combination of shrinking Bitcoin reserves, heavy collateral commitments, and a steep stock price decline paints a difficult financial picture for the company heading into the second half of the year.

Investors and analysts will be closely watching whether Trump Media can stabilize its crypto position or whether further losses will continue to weigh on its balance sheet.
