- Vietnamese quantum expert Nguyen Luong Quang recommends closer EU partnerships to develop Vietnam’s quantum workforce, research infrastructure and industrial capabilities.
- His proposal identifies joint training, remote access to European quantum computers and participation in software, optical component and specialized chip supply chains.
- The recommendations build on broader EU–Vietnam cooperation but do not constitute an approved quantum agreement or funding commitment.
Vietnam should make European partnerships a central part of its quantum technology development, using joint research, specialist training and access to computing infrastructure to build domestic capabilities, a Vietnamese expert has proposed.
Nguyen Luong Quang, a member of the Vietnam Quantum Technology Network, or VNQuantum, outlined the approach in an interview with the Vietnam News Agency’s Brussels correspondent, according to VietnamNet Global. His recommendations would connect Vietnam’s emerging quantum sector more closely with European research institutions and technology businesses.
The proposal comes as Hanoi and Brussels deepen their political and scientific relationship. The two sides upgraded relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in January, creating a broader framework for cooperation.
