Social media platform X said it filed a lawsuit against Bitcoin (BTC) influencers, alleging they manipulated engagement metrics to improperly obtain creator payouts.
X alleges the defendants systematically operated multiple accounts to artificially inflate engagement metrics and improperly obtained at least 207,384 pounds through the Creator Revenue Sharing Program.
X said it suspended the accounts and is seeking repayment of the distributed revenue, damages, interest and legal costs, while estimating the cost of the related investigation and follow-up measures at at least 75,000 pounds.

Wu Blockchain reported on September 21 that X Internet Unlimited Company and X Corp. filed a lawsuit in the U.K. High Court on September 17 against Vivek Kumar Sen, Jamyang Sherpa and operators of related accounts.

X alleges the defendants systematically operated multiple accounts, posted identical or substantially similar content, and artificially inflated engagement metrics by liking and reposting one another’s posts.

The company also claims they bypassed the platform’s enforcement measures and improperly obtained at least 207,384 pounds through the Creator Revenue Sharing Program.

X suspended the accounts on August 18. In the lawsuit, it is seeking repayment of the distributed revenue, damages, interest and legal costs. X also estimated that the cost of investigating and analyzing the related accounts, along with follow-up measures, will total at least 75,000 pounds.
