Crypto News

Two Abu Dhabi-based investment funds collectively held more than $1 billion in BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, at the close of 2025, according to 13F filings submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday. The funds are Mubadala Investment Company, a sovereign wealth fund backed by Abu Dhabi's government, and Al Warda Investments, an investment arm connected to the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, itself a Mubadala subsidiary.

Mubadala reported owning 12,702,323 IBIT shares valued at approximately $631 million at year-end, up from just over 8.7 million shares as of the third quarter. That increase

represents

a roughly 46% jump in share count during Q4 alone. Mubadala first added IBIT to its balance sheet in Q4 2024, when its exposure was at least $436 million.

Al Warda reported holding 8,218,712 shares worth approximately $408 million at year-end, up from 7.96 million shares in the prior quarter. The gain of around 255,000 shares was smaller in scale than Mubadala's addition but still extended the fund's exposure heading into 2026.
