Anthony Scaramucci projects Bitcoin to skyrocket to $100k
SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci expects Bitcoin (BTC) to eventually get back on its feet and climb past $100,000 after months of muted price action.
SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci expects Bitcoin (BTC) to eventually get back on its feet and climb past $100,000 after months of muted price action.
Speaking on CNBC’sSquawk Box on Tuesday, August 18, Scaramucci noted that Bitcoin has spent nine weeks trading within its narrowest volatility range in five years, with prices barely budging since the Iran war began in February 2026.
He attributed the slowdown to three factors: miners redirecting computing power toward artificial intelligence (AI), capital shifting out of crypto and into AI stocks, and investors believing the market is approaching the end of its current bear phase.
Despite the lack of momentum, Scaramucci said he remains bullish on the asset, arguing the next halving even to tighten supply and eventually put upward pressure on the price.
“The real question is: Are we still bullish on Bitcoin? And the answer is resoundingly: Yes. I think as the halving cycle comes in again and we cut the supply of coins again, it will tighten the price, and I think you’ll see the thing move back up over $100,000. But, it’s going to grind for a while,” Scaramucci said.
Bitcoin is currently trading at $64,300, down 26% year-to-date.

The CLARITY Act may not trigger a Bitcoin rally, Anthony Scaramucci says
Scaramucci also downplayed expectations surrounding the CLARITY Act, now that the market is gearing up for a potential September vote.
While describing the legislation as a long-term positive development that could provide greater regulatory certainty, he does not expect it to be a major short-term price catalyst.
Indeed, Scaramucci sees the changing supply-demand dynamics surrounding the next Bitcoin halving as a more important driver. He estimated the chances of the CLARITY Act passing at roughly 50%, although some senators remain confident that lawmakers can reach an agreement next month.
“Moreover, I don’t think the CLARITY Act should pass. Maybe it’s 50:50 that it will…. They still believe they can get this passed in September. That might be a tiny catalyst, but I don’t see that as being a big catalyst,” he added.
Scaramucci added that Bitcoin’s current drawdown of roughly 55% is relatively modest compared with previous bear markets, which have typically produced declines of 75% to 80%. Accordingly, he argued that the drop reflects a growing base of net buyers accumulating Bitcoin ahead of the next potential bull market.
