Co-founder of Arch Lending presents the case for Bitcoin-backed loans at three corporate Bitcoin events.
Himanshu Sahay said at Bitcoin Corporate Day in London, the Midwest Bitcoin Summit in Columbus, and the Bitcoin Treasuries Conference in New York that institutional borrowers should ask four questions before signing a term sheet.
New York, October 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Arch Lending reported that during three corporate Bitcoin events held in September, the company posed the same question to institutional and individual holders: When you need liquidity, do you sell your Bitcoin or borrow against it as collateral?
Himanshu Sahay, Co-Founder and Chief Risk Officer of Arch Lending, said the answer depends less on the stated interest rate and more on the underlying terms of the loan.
Four questions to ask before signing the term sheet
At a panel discussion during Bitcoin Corporate Day in London on September 22, Sahay presented questions he believes any borrower should ask a Bitcoin-backed lender before signing. The event was an invite-only forum attended by businesses, funds, and financial institutions.
- Who holds the private key to the collateral?
- Can collateral be re-pledged or reused?
- What specific conditions trigger liquidation, and is the liquidation partial or full?
- What happens to Bitcoin if the lender goes bankrupt?
