Bitcoin Cash II (BCH2) is a SHA-256 proof-of-work cryptocurrency that launched on March 8, 2026, through a chain fork of BC2 (BitcoinII) at block height 53,200. All BC2 holders received BCH2 at a 1:1 ratio at the time of the fork, with approximately 2,660,000 coins distributed. BCH2 had no premine, no initial coin offering, and no developer allocation. All new coins enter circulation exclusively through mining, following Bitcoin's halving schedule with a current block reward of 50 BCH2 and a maximum supply of 21,000,000.

BCH2 inherits BC2's complete transaction history through the fork block while adopting Bitcoin Cash consensus rules. The network features 32 MB blocks for scalability, the ASERT difficulty adjustment algorithm for stable block times, Schnorr signature support for compact multi-signature transactions, and native introspection opcodes for on-chain scripting capabilities. The protocol includes upgrades through Bitcoin Cash Upgrade 11, including the Adaptive Blocksize Limit Algorithm (ABLA) for dynamic block size adjustment based on network demand.

The network uses CashAddr-format addresses with the "bitcoincashii:" prefix and enforces SIGHASH_FORKID for replay protection against other SHA-256 chains. SegWit outputs are rejected at the consensus level, maintaining a non-witness transaction model. Existing SegWit UTXOs inherited from BC2 are spendable through a witness-via-scriptSig migration mechanism.
