What Tapiero Said About the Bottom
Tapiero said the real catalyst behind Bitcoin’s bottom was not the Treasury’s bond buyback program but the coordinated U.S.-Japan intervention in the dollar-yen exchange rate.
The pair started moving at around 162 to 163, and Tapiero sees another 10% of downside still ahead for dollar-yen, which historically moves inversely with gold and Bitcoin.
“I don’t think we’re going back to those lows,” he said. “We may have a correction, but that low is a good low in Bitcoin, ETH (CRYPTO: ETH), and Solana (CRYPTO: SOL),” he added.
He pointed to a convergence of catalysts that raised the floor, all arriving on the same day:
- Treasury intervention — bond buyback program signaling dollar weakness
- Trump’s public support for Hyperliquid Strategies (NASDAQ:PURR)
- SEC and CFTC both sending supportive regulatory signals simultaneously
His view is that Bitcoin has shifted from a $60,000 to $70,000 range into a $70,000 to $80,000 range as the new base.
Where Tapiero Is Putting Money to Work
Tapiero noted that through his 10T fund he focuses on growth-stage companies across the digital asset ecosystem rather than tokens directly.
