Bitcoin [BTC] failed to sustain its latest upward move after rejection at $65.4K. It then hovered near $63K.
At press time, Bitcoin traded near $63,736, down 0.32% on the daily chart.
Despite weak price action, Metaplanet and Hut 8 moved sizeable Bitcoin holdings. Neither transfer had reached an exchange wallet.
Are Bitcoin treasury transfers a sell signal?
Lookonchain reported that Metaplanet transferred 3,881 BTC, worth $247.3 million.
The transfer remained an Outflow, but the tokens had not reached exchanges. This suggested internal reorganization rather than immediate selling.
Metaplanet had not sold Bitcoin in 2025 or 2026. Instead, it raised its holdings to 43,000 BTC, worth $2.74 billion.

The firm acquired those holdings at an average price of $96,191. Its aggregate cost basis stood at $4.136 billion.
Metaplanet’s holdings were down $1.4 billion, or 34%, amid Bitcoin’s extended weakness. Even so, the firm had not sold. Exchange deposits would change the outlook by adding potential market supply.
Hut 8 also transferred 493 BTC, worth $31.36 million. It had not sold Bitcoin since November 2025. Together, the two firms moved 4,374 BTC, worth approximately $278.66 million.
