Bitcoin Spot Demand Turns Negative Again, Signaling Shift to Futures-Led Trading

Bitcoin's spot demand has turned negative again, indicating the market may be entering a phase of weaker spot trading and rising futures activity.

CryptoQuant Quicktake said on September 1 that on-chain analyst CW8900 wrote on X that Bitcoin spot demand had fallen back into negative territory, pushing the market into a "spot contraction, futures expansion" phase.

CW8900 said spot demand weakened again as Bitcoin moved sideways after its recent rally. The green indicator that had signaled bullish conditions has ended and turned purple, he added.

He said it has become increasingly important for Bitcoin spot demand to recover and that the market should closely watch whether spot buying returns.
