U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Paul Atkins spoke optimistically about the Senate vote on the CLARITY Act, a bill that will shape the legal framework for the crypto asset sector.

During a live broadcast, SEC Chairman Paul Atkins made remarks about the cryptocurrency markets, referring to the procedural vote scheduled to take place in the Senate on September 15th.

Referring to the bill’s legislative process, Atkins stated the following:

“I anticipate and hope that the bill will be passed by the Senate and sent to the President’s desk for final approval.”

Atkins stated that the SEC’s new “Regulation Crypto Assets” proposal is consistent with its goal of making the U.S. a global crypto hub. He said that regulations would attract capital flows and innovative entrepreneurs back to the country, and that ending regulatory uncertainty would both provide investor protection and bring stability to the market.

The statements further heightened expectations for legal clarity within the crypto world ahead of the critical September 15 vote in the Senate.
