Leading cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez set a $100 price target for Solana (CRYPTO: SOL) on Sunday, contingent on the asset overcoming critical resistance levels ahead.
The Path to $100
In an X post, Martinez analyzed Solana trading in a parallel channel on the daily chart, identifying mid-channel resistance at $78 as a key level.
“A break above the mid-range near $78 could trigger a move toward the channel’s upper boundary around $100 for SOL,” the analyst projected.
A rally to $100 would represent roughly 30% upside from current levels. SOL last traded at this level in early February and has not reclaimed it since.
Martinez also spotlighted a “Buy” signal on the TD Sequential indicator, plus a recent Moving Average Convergence Divergence golden cross as additional bullish confirmation signals.
The TD Sequential indicator is a technical analysis tool that helps traders identify potential price reversals and exhaustion patterns. An MACD golden cross typically indicates that upward price momentum is strengthening.
SOL’s Speculative Activity Increases
Solana’s derivatives market has also heated up, with open interest in SOL futures surging 10% in a week, according to Coinglass.
The majority of derivatives traders with open SOL positions were net long on the asset, according to the Long/Short Ratio.
