Spot Bitcoin ETFs Extend Inflow Streak to Five Days With $307.5M Net Gain

U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded approximately $307.46 million in net inflows on Aug. 21, extending a consecutive daily inflow streak to five trading days, according to data from Trader T. The sustained buying activity signals continued institutional interest in regulated digital asset exposure.

Breakdown of Daily Flows

BlackRock’s IBIT led the day with $239.28 million in net inflows, accounting for nearly 78% of the total. Other funds also posted gains: Fidelity’s FBTC added $30.19 million, Grayscale Mini BTC saw $13.62 million, Bitwise’s BITB gained $9.21 million, and VanEck’s HODL contributed $4.36 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT and Ark Invest’s ARKB rounded out the day with $7.73 million and $3.07 million, respectively.

The consistent inflows come amid a broader recovery in digital asset markets, with Bitcoin trading above key support levels. Analysts note that the five-day streak reflects growing confidence among institutional investors, particularly after a period of volatility earlier in the summer.

Context and Market Implications

Spot Bitcoin ETFs have become a significant channel for traditional investors to gain exposure to the cryptocurrency without directly holding the asset. Since their launch in January 2024, these funds have accumulated tens of billions in assets under management, reshaping the investment landscape.
