Strike wants your idle dollars to quietly turn into Bitcoin. The platform founded by Jack Mallers has rolled out a feature called Bitcoin Interest on Cash, which pays US users a 3.6% annual percentage yield on their cash balances.
The interest arrives in Bitcoin rather than dollars, settled monthly in sats.
Mallers announced the feature on X, and the launch date was October 6, 2026. The yield accrues every day and pays out once a month.
There is a small fine-print threshold. Payments only trigger when daily interest exceeds $0.01, so very small balances may not generate a payout right away.
Strike sets no minimum balance and no maximum balance for earning the 3.6% rate.
The feature is not automatic. Users have to opt in through the Strike app, and the product is available only to US individuals.
To put the math in concrete terms, Strike's own example assumes a Bitcoin price of approximately $85,000. At that level, an $8,000 cash balance would generate around $288 in yearly Bitcoin income, which works out to about 338,824 sats.
Strike says the cash balances are held at Cross River Bank. Those deposits are FDIC-insured up to $250,000 per depositor.
Strike itself is not a bank, a distinction the company is careful to make. It acts as the platform layer, while the regulated bank holds the dollars.
