At the center of The Interfold's design are Encrypted Execution Environments, or E3s. These environments allow computations to be performed on protected inputs and produce results that can be verified without disclosing the private information used to generate them. The approach combines distributed infrastructure with cryptographic privacy mechanisms to address situations where participants need to coordinate but cannot or should not reveal their individual data.
