Bier disse que originalmente criou o Cashtags para trazer ferramentas de negociação de cripto para o X. Ele liderou a equipe de produto do X por 13 meses antes de sair em 5 de agosto, e agora continua na empresa como consultor. 

O X pode não processar as negociações reais

Ainda há alguma incerteza sobre como o recurso de negociação de cripto do X realmente funcionará. Bier sugeriu anteriormente que os usuários poderiam negociar diretamente de sua timeline, mas depois esclareceu que o X não processará as negociações por conta própria nem atuará como uma corretora. Em vez disso, o novo botão pode simplesmente enviar os usuários para uma plataforma externa para concluir a negociação. 

É assim que o X já funciona com a Wealthsimple no Canadá, os usuários tocam em um ticker de cripto ou ação no X e são enviados para a Wealthsimple para realizar a transação real.
