Zcash (ZEC) reached its highest price since 2018 on Aug. 23, briefly climbing above $855.
The move came as Grayscale pushed further toward converting its Zcash Trust into a spot
and derivatives traders piled into the rally with heavy leverage.

Grayscale Files 5th Amendment for Spot ZEC ETF
The rally was already underway before Grayscale's latest move. ZEC had gained more than 30% for the week when Grayscale submitted its fifth amended registration statement on Friday, Aug. 22. The filing seeks to convert the existing Grayscale Zcash Trust into a spot ETF on NYSE Arca under the ticker ZCSH, with an annual sponsor fee of 2.5%. The application does not represent approval and remains subject to SEC review.
